Little Buddha 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Arrive July 22 from Kino Lorber

Little Buddha (1993), directed by Bernardo Bertolucci and starring Keanu Reeves, Bridget Fonda, and Chris Isaak, arrives on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray July 22 from Kino Lorber. This edition presents the International Version of the film, running 140 minutes, newly restored in 4K under the supervision of cinematographer Vittorio Storaro.

The 4K Blu-ray features a Dolby Vision HDR presentation with both 5.1 surround and lossless 2.0 audio tracks. English subtitles are optional. Film critic Bilge Ebiri provides a new audio commentary exclusive to this release.

The Blu-ray disc duplicates the restored film with the new audio commentary and supplements the package with rich archival material. Included are interviews with director Bernardo Bertolucci and producer Jeremy Thomas, plus the archival making-of documentary. The theatrical trailer is also part of the extras, allowing fans and collectors access to important historical context around this spiritual drama.

Little Buddha showcases a narrative about a young boy believed to be the reincarnation of Siddhartha, intersecting American life with Tibetan traditions. The film reunites Bertolucci with his award-winning collaborators, including production and costume designer James Acheson and composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, who contributed to the evocative atmosphere.
