The John Wayne Gacy Murders: Life and Death in Chicago launches on Blu-ray from MVD Visual, scheduled for September 16, 2025. This three-disc set presents an eight-part miniseries running approximately 465 minutes, offering a comprehensive and chronological exploration of the infamous serial killer’s life and criminal career.
Directed by Chicago native John Borowski, the series covers Gacy’s early years, his crimes in Waterloo, Iowa, his period of terror in Chicago, and his time as a prison celebrity leading up to his execution. It includes detailed coverage on ongoing efforts to identify unknown victims, dispelling several myths surrounding the case.
The documentary features interviews with attorneys, news reporters, detectives, psychiatrists, law enforcement officers, collectors, and Chicago locals connected to the case. Filming took place at key locations in Chicago and Iowa to enhance the narrative with firsthand insights from experts and witnesses.
This Blu-ray edition is region-free and includes a filmmaker commentary track and interview outtakes. Optional English SDH subtitles are also available to accommodate accessibility needs.
