The Guilty
Director: Gustav Möller
Actors: Jakob Cedergren, Jessica Dinnage, Omar Shargawi
PlotIn the confines of an emergency call center, a demoted police officer, Asger Holm, answers a distress call from a woman named Iben who subtly indicates she's been kidnapped while pretending to speak to her child. The call abruptly disconnects, leaving Asger with limited information. Despite being assigned to desk work, Asger's instincts kick in, and he becomes determined to save the woman from her abductor. He embarks on a tense and critical mission, using only his phone to piece together Iben's situation while confined to the call center. As the night unfolds, Asger uses his wits and breaks protocol, contacting police officers and other parties directly, trying to track down the moving vehicle Iben is in and rescue her.
Asger’s initial self-assuredness gradually cracks as the complexity of the crisis spirals. He grapples with the nuances of the limited information he has, often leaping to conclusions as the severity of the situation intensifies. Wrestling with the constraints of his role and his own troubled past, Asger becomes increasingly entwined in Iben's predicament. His personal investment blurs the lines between professional duty and a desperate need for redemption. Throughout this one-location thriller, the depths of Asger’s character are revealed as he faces the unfolding drama of the night, responding to each unpredictable twist in the desperate hope of ensuring Iben’s safety.
