Primary Colors Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray Arrives July 1
Shout Factory releases a two-disc set featuring a new 4K restoration with extensive commentaries and interviews
Primary Colors (1998), directed by Mike Nichols and starring John Travolta, Emma Thompson, Billy Bob Thornton, and Kathy Bates, arrives on 4K Blu-ray July 1 from Shout Factory. This Collector's Edition includes a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative, presented in Dolby Vision/HDR.
The release consists of two discs: Disc One is a 4K Blu-ray featuring DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and stereo tracks, with optional English subtitles. It includes a new audio commentary by film critic Drew McWeeny alongside Elaine May biographer Carrie Courogen.
Disc Two contains a Blu-ray edition of the film with the same new 4K restoration and audio commentary. Additionally, it offers new interviews with actor Paul Guilfoyle, author Joe Klein, and actor Adrian Lester. Theatrical trailers are also included, providing further archival material.
Primary Colors follows Jack Stanton (Travolta), an underdog Southern governor pursuing the presidency with his wife Susan (Thompson). Their colorful campaign team navigates a roller coaster political journey filled with both humor and drama. The film features performances by several Academy Award winners.
