World Noir Vol. 4 Blu-ray Box Set Arrives September 15
Gaumont's collection of classic French noirs with new commentaries and an 80-page book.
World Noir Vol. 4 is a limited edition Blu-ray box set presenting three seminal French noir films from the 1950s and 1960s, restored by Gaumont. It features Razzia sur la Chnouf (Raid on Drugs), Back to the Wall, and Paris Pick-up, each reflecting the intertwined cinematic relationship between French and American noir traditions.
The set includes new 2K restorations and original uncompressed mono PCM audio tracks for all films. Optional improved English subtitles are provided. The packaging features newly designed artwork based on original posters and comes with an 80-page perfect bound book containing archival materials and essays from critics and experts such as Imogen Sara Smith, Farran Nehme, and Jake Cole.

Razzia sur la Chnouf has an audio commentary by Nick Pinkerton from 2019, a 1960 archival interview with director Henri Decoin discussing Jean Gabin, a new 2025 visual essay on drugs in film noir by Frank Krutnik, and the original trailer.

Back to the Wall includes a new 2025 audio commentary by Daniel Kremer, an archival 2011 retrospective interview with director Édouard Molinaro, and its trailer.

Paris Pick-up features a new 2025 audio commentary by Tim Lucas, archival interviews with director Marcel Bluwal and actor Robert Hossein alongside writer Frédéric Dard about their 1963 play. It also contains behind-the-scenes archival footage from 1962 and an episode of the TV crime serial Inspector Leclerc Investigates: The Grey Jackets directed by Bluwal.
This limited edition is restricted to 3,000 copies, housed in a rigid box with full-height Scanavo cases and a removable OBI strip which leaves packaging free of certificates and markings. The set is region B locked.
