Actors: Andrée Pelletier, Anne-Marie Provencher, Miguel Fernandes
PlotIn the seedy underbelly of Montreal's East End, the lives of several small-time prostitutes become entangled with the criminal world dominated by pimps and corrupt law enforcement. The women's existence is a daily grind of survival as they work the streets, always under the watchful eye of their exploitative pimps. The focus is on Cindy, a street-smart woman who has grown tired of her oppressive life and begins to dream of freedom from the relentless demands of the flesh trade.
Cindy's resolve to escape her circumstances sparks a flame of rebellion among her fellow sex workers. Together, they start to plot their departure from the control of their pimps. Their aspirations for a life beyond prostitution are complicated by the violent and manipulative tactics of those who seek to keep them in bondage. The women must navigate treachery, abuse, and their entrenched disenfranchisement as their journey of emancipation becomes increasingly perilous.
