Awaking in the modern world, the samurai finds himself on a movie set meant for historical dramas, still clad in his authentic period attire. Mistaken for an extra due to his appearance and mannerisms, he quickly becomes involved in the world of jidaigeki productions, repeatedly cast in the role of a kirareyaku—a swordsman known for memorable on-screen deaths.
