The Jet Li Collection 4K UHD and Blu-ray Box Set Arrives July 29 from Shout! Studios
Shout! Studios launches Hong Kong Cinema Classics with remastered 4K restorations of Jet Li's martial arts classics
Shout! Studios introduces the Hong Kong Cinema Classics™ sublabel, spotlighting pivotal Hong Kong films with comprehensive 4K and Blu-ray releases. Kicking off this series is The Jet Li Collection, a 10-disc box set featuring five of Jet Li's key Hong Kong martial arts films: Fist of Legend, Tai Chi Master, Fong Sai Yuk, Fong Sai Yuk II, and The Bodyguard from Beijing. Scheduled for release on July 29, 2025, this collection delivers fully remastered presentations scanned in 4K from original camera negatives, with restored audio, video, and newly translated subtitles.
The collection highlights films directed by notable filmmakers such as Gordon Chan, Woo-Ping Yuen, and Corey Yuen, with Fist of Legend and Tai Chi Master presented in Dolby Vision HDR. Each title features new audio commentaries by Hong Kong film critic James Mudge, previously unavailable interviews, and additional bonus content that dives into the filmmaking and martial arts history central to these works.
This series is part of a larger initiative collaborating closely with the Hong Kong Film Archives to remaster many cult classics from the ’80s and ’90s. These releases support a growing interest in Hong Kong cinema’s influence on global filmmaking and highlight iconic talents including Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Chow Yun-Fat, among others.
Alongside physical releases like The Jet Li Collection, Shout! Studios will also offer digital 4K availability of acclaimed titles such as John Woo’s Hard Boiled and A Better Tomorrow sequels during summer 2025. Subsequent physical media releases include Ringo Lam's City on Fire in August and Tsui Hark's Peking Opera Blues in September.
Collectors ordering directly from ShoutFactory.com will receive an exclusive poster featuring new artwork while supplies last. This launch reinforces Shout! Studios’ dedication to preserving and showcasing classic Asian cinema with high technical standards and rich supplemental materials.
