The King of Kings Resurrected on Blu-ray April 15
Flicker Alley announces stunning return of DeMille's epic 1927 classic with deluxe features and new restoration.
Flicker Alley is set to bring Cecil B. DeMille's legendary silent film, The King of Kings (1927), back to life in high definition with a newly restored Blu-ray release scheduled for April 15. This monumental work, featuring H.B. Warner and Dorothy Cumming, is a cinematic exploration of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, renowned for its scale and innovative film techniques.
The deluxe edition includes both the Roadshow Version and the General Release cut of the film. The Roadshow Version, which premiered at Grauman's Chinese Theater, runs 161 minutes and uniquely features Technicolor sequences, hand coloring, and synchronized sound effects. These elements, paired with the orchestral score composed by Robert Israel, bring a vibrant experience to this historical masterpiece.
Painstakingly restored by Blackhawk Films with support from Cecilia DeMille Presley, this Blu-ray celebrates the artistry and craftsmanship behind a film that continues to impact audiences worldwide.
