Radiance Unveils 4K Restoration of Themroc for May Release
Radiance showcases a 4K restoration of Claude Faraldo's Themroc with special features and exclusive packaging.
Themroc, directed by Claude Faraldo and starring Michel Piccoli, gets a vibrant 4K restoration courtesy of Radiance. This cult satire, an exploration of labor and gender politics through the story of an urban caveman's defiance, relives its rebellious spirit on Blu-ray.
This release marks the film’s first appearance on disc in the UK, reviving memories for those who remember its Channel 4 Red Triangle showings. The expertly restored film, presented from the original negative by Studiocanal, features original uncompressed PCM mono audio and optional English subtitles tailored for all audiences.
The package brims with enticing content: a new interview with critic David Thompson and actor-director Michel Piccoli and Claude Faraldo, respectively. Additionally, an interview with Manuela Lazic sheds light on Michel Piccoli’s influence. A gallery, trailer, reversible sleeve artwork by Sam Smith, and a limited edition booklet authored by Alison Smith are included, enriching the collector's experience.
Presented in Scanavo packaging, this limited edition (3000 copies) features a removable OBI strip and an exclusive booklet entitled “French Cinema in the 1970s: The echoes of May.” This release is region A/B locked, and it is scheduled to spruce up collections this May.
