The First Slam Dunk 4K Blu-ray Set for February Release!

Shout Factory in collaboration with GKIDS is set to release the 4K Blu-ray edition of Takehiko Inoue's acclaimed film, The First Slam Dunk (2022). This highly anticipated title is featuring the incredible talents of Shugo Nakamura, Jun Kasama, Shinichiro Kamio, Subaru Kimura, and Kenta Miyake. Fans can expect to see this release on store shelves come February 18.

The story follows Ryota Miyagi, Shohoku High School's strategic point guard known for his quick wit and speed. Born in Okinawa, Ryota grew under the shadow of his older brother, a celebrated player. Following in those footsteps, he developed an undying love for basketball, propelling him to join forces with teammates Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi, and Mitsui in their pursuit to conquer the Inter-High School National Championship, aiming to topple reigning champions Sannoh Kogyo High School.

The 4K Blu-ray release includes two discs packed with valuable features. Disc One highlights a DOLBY VISION/HDR presentation of the film, complemented by DOLBY ATMOS audio in both Japanese and English, along with optional English and French subtitles.

Disc Two, the Blu-ray segment, captivates with an interview with the director, an intriguing featurette on the English dub cast, color commentary with the voice actors, and an array of trailers and teasers. It also provides Japanese and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio with optional subtitles.
