Originally penned as a controversial TV play by legendary dramatist Dennis Potter, this 1982 film adaptation, directed by Richard Loncraine, showcases a mesmerizing performance by Sting in the role of Martin Taylor, alongside an esteemed cast including Denholm Elliott and Joan Plowright.

Set against the backdrop of a middle-class London family, the film chronicles young con man Martin Taylor's malevolent infiltration into the lives of a vulnerable family. Feigning the role of an old love interest, Martin finds his way into the Bates' household under deceptive pretenses. However, as he further ingratiates himself with the family, his sinister intentions gradually bubble to the surface, carving a narrative filled with suspense and psychological tension.
