High Noon 4K Blu-ray Arrives July 28 from Eureka Entertainment
Eureka Entertainment releases High Noon in the UK on 4K UHD Blu-ray with a new Dolby Vision HDR presentation and extensive bonus features
High Noon (1952), directed by Fred Zinnemann and produced by Stanley Kramer, is now set to release on 4K UHD Blu-ray in the UK on July 28, 2025. The film stars Gary Cooper as small-town Marshal Will Kane, whose peaceful retirement plans are interrupted by the return of an outlaw he once apprehended. As the titular showdown approaches, Kane struggles to gather support while his pacifist bride Amy (played by Grace Kelly) dissuades violence.
This edition includes a 4K (2160p) digital restoration presented in Dolby Vision HDR, compatible with HDR10 displays. Optional English subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing are provided. Audio commentaries come from historian Glenn Frankel, author of High Noon: The Hollywood Blacklist and the Making of an American Classic, and western expert Stephen Prince, offering detailed insights into the film's production and thematic significance.
Additional newly produced content comprises "Women of the West: A Feminist Approach to High Noon," a video essay by scholar J. E. Smyth, an interview with film historian Neil Sinyard, and archival materials such as a 1969 audio interview with writer Carl Foreman. The package also includes documentaries on the making and context of the film, plus the original theatrical trailer.
This limited edition release is presented in a collector's O-card slipcase and includes a booklet featuring John W. Cunningham's original short story The Tin Star, a 1974 essay by screenwriter Carl Foreman, and a retrospective review. Previously restored for Blu-ray in 2019, this is the film’s first UK debut on 4K UHD Blu-ray through Eureka Entertainment.
