PlotIn an upscale Ohio high school, Veronica Sawyer navigates the social hierarchy dominated by a clique known as the Heathers, consisting of three girls who all share the same first name. Although she’s part of this powerful group, Veronica grows disillusioned with its cruel activities. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets J.D., an enigmatic new student with a rebellious spirit and a knack for manipulation. Disgusted by the relentless bullying and superficiality around her, Veronica becomes infatuated with J.D.'s daring view on life and his disdain for her current social circle. Together, they plot to disrupt the status quo, inadvertently setting off a chain of violent events masked as unfortunate accidents.
As their plans become darker, the consequences escalate beyond Veronica's control, shaking the foundation of the school's social order. J.D.'s influence shifts from being liberating to increasingly dangerous and unpredictable, dragging Veronica deeper into a series of morally questionable actions that leave her grappling with guilt and uncertainty. Desperate to extricate herself from J.D.'s schemes, she must confront the chaos she helped unleash and find a way to restore some semblance of normalcy to her life and those of her classmates. The story explores themes of power and identity, revealing the dark underbelly of high school life and the destructive potential of unchecked ambition.
