Actors: Joseph Cotten, Norma Bengell, Julián Mateos
PlotA group of ex-Confederate soldiers, led by the fanatical Jonas, hatch a plan to overthrow the Union by stealing a fortune in cash that was meant for Union soldiers and use it to fund a new uprising. Jonas, along with his three sons Ben, Nat and Jeff, ambush a military convoy to seize the money hidden inside a coffin. To transport the coffin without arousing suspicion, they employ the services of Claire, a woman who poses as a mourning widow.
As they embark on their journey, they encounter various obstacles including skeptical townsfolk, lawmen, and rival bandits who are eager to get their hands on the treasure. Tension mounts within the group as they face increasingly dangerous situations and moral dilemmas. Each confrontation pushes them closer to their ultimate goal, while revealing the depth of Jonas's obsession and the lengths he'll go to see his mission through.
