PlotA high school student, Devin, is an academic overachiever focused on securing a scholarship to attend Yale. Despite his stellar grades, he's socially awkward and out of place among his peers. His life takes a turn when he is paired with Mac, a 15-year senior who has managed to extend his high-school career by perpetually failing. Mac is the complete opposite of Devin: streetwise, carefree, and uninterested in academics. Initially, they clash due to their different outlooks on life and school.
As they are forced to work together on a science project, they begin to influence each other. Mac teaches Devin to loosen up and enjoy life beyond textbooks, while Devin helps Mac catch up on lost coursework, offering him a new perspective on achieving his goals. Their journey is filled with hilarious escapades and a budding friendship that challenges both to step out of their comfort zones. Along the way, they navigate school politics, romantic interests, and personal growth, eventually finding a sense of balance and mutual respect. The partnership brings unexpected changes that impact not only their school days but also their visions for the future.

Mac & Devin Go to High School lacks substance, with acceptable Blu-ray audio/video quality; the film itself feels like a waste of time unless watched under the influence.
