Universal’s 4K UHD transfer (2160p HEVC/H.265, 1.78:1) restores a natural, filmic look: fine grain intact, crisp textures, warm amber/yellow grading with accurate skin tones. Peak whites are tempered, but blacks are dense and inky. A clear, appreciable upgrade over the Blu-ray.

No Atmos; the UHD opts for a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mix (BD offers DTS-HD), prioritizing crisp, centered dialogue with a largely front-driven stage. Surrounds are subtle but tasteful—ambient office chatter, distant trains—while the score opens the stereos. Bass is restrained, with rare low-end pops.
Extra: 56
All legacy extras are ported: deleted scenes with optional Steven Soderbergh commentary, an EPK/making-of and featurette on the real Brockovich, and Universal’s 100th Anniversary shorts. Solid archival package, no new content.

Erin Brockovich’s 4K UHD debut honors Soderbergh’s riveting, Oscar-winning showcase for Julia Roberts—an inspiring, hard-edged fight against PG&E. Universal’s disc ports over legacy extras with no new content, and includes a slipcover, Blu-ray, and Movies Anywhere Digital Code.
