My expectations for this movie weren't exactly sky high, with a new director, actors and story, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a fun movie here. The actors all do fantastic jobs, with everyone pointing to Kevin Durand as Proximus as the standout for very good reason. The special effects are outstanding, we are really at a point where it seems like we're watching real life apes. But the effects mean nothing without a good story and the one told here is engaging and well paced. Highly recommended.
