This Is Spinal Tap 4K Blu-ray Releases September 16 from Criterion
Criterion Collection presents a newly restored 4K edition of This Is Spinal Tap with extensive extras and Dolby Vision HDR
This Is Spinal Tap arrives on 4K Blu-ray from Criterion Collection on September 16. This edition features a new 4K restoration supervised and approved by director Rob Reiner, presented with a 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack and Dolby Vision HDR presentation.
Included is an alternate 2.0 uncompressed stereo track along with three separate audio commentaries: one featuring actors Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer; another with Reiner, producer Karen Murphy, and editors Robert Leighton and Kent Beyda; and a third with the fictional band members Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins, and Derek Smalls.
Additional supplements include a new conversation between Rob Reiner and actor Patton Oswalt, outtakes, alternate takes, and abandoned subplots in The Cutting Room Floor, the 1981 documentary Spinal Tap: The Final Tour, as well as trailers, promotional spots, media appearances, music videos, and commercials. The release features English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
This two-disc set also includes an essay by critic Alex Pappademas.
