The Way of the Gun 25th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray Arrives June 17
Lionsgate releases Christopher McQuarrie's neo-Western thriller with extensive new extras in 4K and Dolby Atmos
The Way of the Gun (2000), directed by Christopher McQuarrie, arrives on 4K Blu-ray from Lionsgate Home Entertainment on June 17, marking the film's 25th anniversary.
This neo-Western action-thriller follows petty criminals Parker (Ryan Phillippe) and Longbaugh (Benicio Del Toro) as they kidnap Robin (Juliette Lewis), a surrogate mother about to deliver a wealthy couple's child. Their plan unravels when Robin is revealed to be carrying the son of a ruthless gangster, triggering a violent pursuit led by hit men and an ominous enforcer (James Caan).
The release features a 4K restoration with Dolby Vision HDR presentation and a Dolby Atmos audio track, enhancing the film’s visual and sound fidelity. It includes several new featurettes: “Intention Is Everything” (20-25 minutes) and “Trigger Discipline” (8-10 minutes). An audio commentary track with director Christopher McQuarrie and composer Joe Kraemer is provided alongside an isolated music track with commentary by Kraemer.
Additional extras include cast interviews with Ryan Phillippe, Benicio Del Toro, Juliette Lewis, Taye Diggs, Nicky Katt, and James Caan; storyboards and script of a deleted scene; as well as the theatrical trailer and TV spot. Optional English and Spanish subtitles accompany the main feature.
