The Pusher Trilogy 4K Blu-ray Box Set Arrives August 25 from Second Sight
Second Sight releases The Pusher Trilogy on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray with new restorations, commentaries, and extras
The Pusher Trilogy (1996-2005), directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, arrives on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray from British label Second Sight on August 25, 2025. This box set collects all three crime dramas that explore Copenhagen's underworld.
Pusher (1996) follows a mid-level criminal’s life after a botched drug deal. It stars Mads Mikkelsen, Kim Bodnia, and Zlatko Buric. The second entry, Pusher II (2004), depicts a man recently released from jail striving to reform amid difficult circumstances, also starring Mikkelsen. The trilogy concludes with Pusher III (2005), focusing on an aging drug dealer confronting his addiction and legacy.
All three films receive new 4K restorations overseen by Refn himself. The audio options include Dolby Atmos mixes alongside original stereo 2.0 tracks. New commentary tracks feature Refn with film critics Peter Bradshaw, Catherine Shoard, and Alan Jones.
Included extras enrich the package: the full-length documentary Gambler; a newly restored Danish trilogy by director Poul Nyrup connected thematically to the Pusher films (noted by Refn’s dedication in Pusher III); and a 120-page book with multiple essays on the trilogy and Nyrup’s work. Collectors also receive five art cards and a rigid slipcase featuring original artwork by Thomas Walker.
This release is a comprehensive presentation of the Pusher series with significant technical upgrades and supplementary materials for enthusiasts of Nordic noir and crime cinema.
