The Punishment (1973) also known as La punition is coming to Blu-ray with a new 4K restoration directly from the original camera negative, presented uncut for the first time. The story follows Britt, portrayed by Karin Schubert, a young woman who leaves her village for Paris seeking a glamorous life but soon finds herself trapped in a dark world of exploitation led by Manuel.
The film is based on a notorious book by a woman who experienced similar abuses, and it was scandalous upon its initial French release, subsequently becoming hard to find. This Blu-ray edition marks the world premiere of the film in this format and is region-free!
