The Peacemaker 4K Blu-ray Arrives June 24 from Kino Lorber
Kino Lorber releases Mimi Leder’s 1997 thriller The Peacemaker in new 4K from original negatives with extensive extras.
The Peacemaker (1997), directed by Mimi Leder, stars George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Marcel Iures, Aleksandr Baluev, and Rene Medvesek. The film follows a U.S. nuclear specialist and a Special Forces colonel racing to stop a nuclear terrorist after a train carrying atomic warheads crashes in the former Soviet Union. Combining action and political thriller elements, the film centers on their pursuit to recover the missing warheads.
Kino Lorber presents this release sourced from a new 4K master created using the original camera negative provided by Paramount. The 4K Blu-ray disc includes a Dolby Vision/HDR presentation and multiple audio options including 5.1 surround and lossless 2.0 stereo audio tracks. Optional English subtitles are available.
Two audio commentaries accompany the release: one by film historians Steve Mitchell and Nathaniel Thompson, and another by film journalist Laurence Lerman, providing detailed insight into the production and themes. The package also comprises a second Blu-ray disc with additional content including stunt footage, deleted scenes titled "From the Cutting Room Floor," and the theatrical trailer.
Physical packaging features a limited edition O-Card slipcase. This edition is scheduled to arrive on June 24, 2025, offering fans and collectors a technical upgrade and comprehensive supplemental materials for this action-packed thriller from Paramount.
