The Odd Job Blu-ray to Release August 26 from Severin Films

The Odd Job (1978), directed by Peter Medak, arrives on Blu-ray for the first time worldwide via Severin Films on August 26, 2025. This black comedy stars Graham Chapman just before his work on Life of Brian, portraying Arthur Harris, a man who, after his wife leaves him, hires a handyman to end his life but soon finds out the plan has other complications.

The release features a new 2K restoration scanned from Medak’s personal 35mm print, delivering the film in its original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with English mono audio. Supporting cast includes Sir David Jason in a role initially meant for Keith Moon, Diana Quick, Carolyn Seymour, Simon Williams, Bill Paterson, and Richard O'Brien. Severin Films ensures full region-free playback and provides closed captions for accessibility.

Special features enrich this edition with an introduction by Peter Medak, an audio interview with him, and a Zoom reunion between Jason and Medak titled The Odd Job Men. Also included are interviews with writer Bernard McKenna (The Unusual Work), co-producer Mark Forstater (Producer, An Odd Job), actors Richard O’Brien (The Odd Batch), Carolyn Seymour (The Naughty Neighbor), and Simon Williams (Most Peculiar Craft). All foreign-language supplements contain English subtitles.
