The Last Shark Blu-ray Surfaces with Special Features!
Treasured Films announces the UK Blu-ray debut of Enzo G. Castellari's eco-horror on June 6.
The Last Shark (1981), helmed by celebrated Italian director Enzo G. Castellari, makes its UK Blu-ray debut on June 6, courtesy of British label Treasured Films. This limited edition release highlights a cult favorite within the Italian Sharksploitation sub-genre, starring James Franciscus, Vic Morrow, and Micaela Pignatelli.
Set against the backdrop of a sunlit beach resort, an idyllic summer is disrupted by an immense 35-foot great white shark, antagonizing local swimmers. Author Peter Benton (Franciscus) and veteran shark hunter Ron Hamer (Morrow) are propelled into action, while the mayor remains indifferent. Known for its memorable gory set pieces and a compelling soundtrack fusing disco with the works of the De Angelis brothers, this eco-horror thrills with its high-stakes aquatic adventure.
This UK Blu-ray debut is embellished with multiple brand-new extra features, designed for an immersive viewing experience. It showcases the film in widescreen, derived from a high-definition master, complemented by English SDH subtitles and an uncompressed English DTS-HD Master Audio track.
