John Woo’s The Killer (1989) – one of the most celebrated action films of all time – is making its way to 4K UHD with a Deluxe Limited Edition. Shout! Studios will be releasing it on December 2 as a part of their Hong Kong Cinema Classics line.
The film tells the story of Ah Jong (Chow Yun-fat), a professional assassin who, in a shoot-out, accidentally blinds nightclub singer Jennie (Sally Yeh). Wracked with guilt, he agrees to take one final job to raise funds for her eye surgery. But the assignment backfires, and Ah Jong finds himself hunted by both criminal forces and the police — including a determined Inspector Li (Danny Lee) — as he fights to protect Jennie and atone for his mistake.
