The Golden Triangle Blu-ray Arrives August 19 from Dark Force Entertainment
Rare 1975 martial arts thriller stars Lo Leih and Sombat Metanee in a new 2K restoration
The Golden Triangle (1975), directed by Rome Bunnag and Wu Ma, releases on standard Blu-ray August 19 via Dark Force Entertainment. This martial arts crime thriller follows an undercover Thai army agent infiltrating a powerful opium syndicate operating in Southeast Asia's Golden Triangle.
Lo Leih, known internationally for King Boxer, stars as a drug trafficker who escapes police and becomes embroiled in the opium ring. Sombat Metanee plays the undercover agent who falls for Tian Ni, the gang’s enigmatic female leader played by Feng Tien of Fists of Fury fame.
The release uses the only known existing 35mm print presenting the film uncut with a 95-minute runtime. Shot on location in Thailand and Hong Kong, it is presented in its original 2.35:1 scope aspect ratio. The disc features a new 2K restoration.
This marks the first official home video release since an old VHS edition and brings this rare title to Blu-ray for collectors and fans of classic kung-fu cinema.
