The Ghost of Peter Sellers Blu-ray Hits August 26 from Severin Films
Severin Films releases The Ghost of Peter Sellers documentary on Blu-ray with new interviews and special features.
The Ghost of Peter Sellers arrives on Blu-ray from Severin Films on August 26, presenting the North American premiere of this detailed documentary. Directed by Peter Medak, the film revisits the troubled 1973 production of Ghost in the Noonday Sun, a 17th-century pirate epic starring Peter Sellers at his career peak.
The documentary explores the chaotic filming plagued by an unfinished script rewitten by Spike Milligan, rough seas, sinking ships, and Sellers' erratic behavior. The original project’s disarray left it barely released and significantly impacted Medak’s career. Over forty years later, Medak reflects on the experience, offering insight into both Sellers’ brilliance and the tumultuous production.
The Blu-ray includes a runtime of 93 minutes and is presented in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with English 5.1 and stereo audio tracks. It features closed captions and is region-free. All foreign-language featurettes offer English subtitles.
