The Colors Within Blu-ray Arrives May 27 from GKIDS and Shout Factory

The Colors Within (2024), directed by Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice, Liz and the Blue Bird), releases on Blu-ray from GKIDS and Shout Factory on May 27. The film features a coming-of-age story centered on Totsuko, who uniquely sees colorful auras around others but not her own. She connects with classmate Kimi, who shines with the most vibrant color, forming a band with Kimi and Rui, a theremin player, exploring their musical desires.

The Blu-ray edition includes original Japanese and English audio tracks with optional English and Spanish subtitles. Among the special features are the short film Garden of Remembrance, live talk and drawing sessions with Naoko Yamada, a photowalk and crate digging segment with the director, scene breakdowns, a special feature on starting a band with composer Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man), and insights into the film’s color palette.

A DVD is also included containing select special features such as the Garden of Remembrance short film and segments with Yamada and Ushio.
