Mikey Limited Edition Blu-ray Arrives August 4 from Treasured Films

Mikey (1992), directed by Dennis Dimster, arrives on a Limited Edition Blu-ray from British label Treasured Films on August 4, 2025. The release marks the film’s official UK home video debut since the BBFC denied certification in 1996.

The thriller stars Brian Bonsall, Ashley Laurence, John Diehl, Whit Hertford, and Lyman Ward. It follows Mikey, a seemingly sweet boy whose foster families and schools become sites of tragic and deadly accidents. The story presents a new take on the slasher genre through Mikey’s dangerous path.

This edition features a newly created 4K restoration from the original camera negative, ensuring a high-quality presentation. Audio commentary includes Amanda Reyes and Justin Kerswell of The Hysteria Lives! The extensive bonus content offers interviews, featurettes, and documentaries that explore the making and impact of the film.

Highlights include an interview with star Mimi Craven, a chat with former child star Whit Hertford, plus a video essay by film historian Darrell Buxton on killer kids in cinema.
