Lethal Weapon 4K Blu-ray Releases June 24 from Warner Bros
Warner Bros issues standard and SteelBook 4K editions featuring new restorations and Dolby Atmos audio
Lethal Weapon (1987), directed by Richard Donner, arrives on 4K Blu-ray from Warner Bros Home Entertainment on June 24. Alongside a SteelBook edition, a standard 4K release will be available, featuring new 4K restorations of both the Director's Cut and Theatrical Version.
The film follows Los Angeles detective Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson), a volatile and suicidal cop grappling with the loss of his wife. When reassigned to partner with veteran officer Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover), the initially conflicted duo uncover a significant drug-trafficking operation. Their confrontations escalate as Riggs’ reckless behavior proves both a danger and an asset.
The releases include HDR presentations of the film and offer a Dolby Atmos audio track for an immersive sound experience, complemented by a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track on the Theatrical Version. Optional subtitles are provided in English, Spanish, and French.
Special features highlight the film’s legacy with two featurettes: A Legacy of Inspiration: Remembering Dick Donner and I Am Too Old for This… - A Chemistry that Became Iconic, exploring the impact of the film and its iconic partnership.
