La Haine 30th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray on April 21
British Film Institute re-releases Kassovitz's landmark film with new features and restoration.
La Haine returns in a stunning 4K Blu-ray release, courtesy of the British Film Institute, set to hit the market on April 21, 2025. This release commemorates the film's 30th anniversary, boasting a new restoration supervised by Pierre Aïm, enhancing its critically acclaimed black-and-white visuals. Authored by Mathieu Kassovitz, the film dives into the lives of three friends grappling with societal issues following a police incident—traversing themes of rebellion and social injustice. The film won Kassovitz the Best Director prize at Cannes in 1995.
This edition includes an alternative score by electronic music collective Asian Dub Foundation, recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall in 2025. In celebration of the release, La Haine will also screen at BFI IMAX and other select locations starting April 11.
