Krull 4K Blu-ray SteelBook Arrives September 16 from Sony
Sony Pictures releases Krull on 4K UHD with a new restoration and extensive extras in a limited steelbook edition
Krull, directed by Peter Yates, arrives on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray as a limited edition steelbook on September 16, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. This fantasy-adventure follows Ken Marshall as Colwyn, a prince seeking the magical Glaive to rescue his bride Lyssa, played by Lysette Anthony, from the clutches of the Beast.
The 4K UHD disc features a new restoration from the original camera negative, approved by cinematographer Peter Suschitzky, presented in 2160p resolution with Dolby Vision HDR. The soundtrack includes English Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 7.1 compatible, alongside English 5.1 DTS-HD MA and 2-channel surround options.
A second disc includes the HD Blu-ray presentation sourced from the same 4K restoration and offers English 5.1 and 2-channel surround audio. Special features encompass an audio commentary with director Peter Yates, actors Ken Marshall and Lysette Anthony, and editor Ray Lovejoy. Additional extras include a behind-the-scenes commentary, the "Journey to Krull" featurette, and the original theatrical trailer.
Running approximately 121 minutes and rated PG, this release caters to collectors and fans of classic fantasy cinema, delivering both an upgraded visual experience and comprehensive supplemental content, all housed in a collectible steelbook package.
