Hud Blu-ray Release by Imprint Films Arrives July 30
Imprint Films releases Hud on Blu-ray with a 1080p HD presentation and new special features
Hud (1963), directed by Martin Ritt, releases on Blu-ray from Imprint Films on July 30. The Western stars Paul Newman as Hud Bannon, a rebellious Texas rancher in conflict with his father amid a hoof-and-mouth disease outbreak.
The film gained seven Academy Award nominations, winning three, including Oscars for Patricia Neal and Melvyn Douglas. Shot on location in Texas, it combines intense character drama with notable cinematography.
This limited edition Blu-ray (1,500 copies) features a 1080p high-definition presentation and a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The audio options include English DTS-HD 5.1 Surround and LPCM 2.0 Mono tracks, with optional English HOH subtitles.
New special features include an audio commentary by screenwriter and film historian C. Courtney Joyner alongside writer Julie Kirgo, and a fresh interview with actress Ileanna Douglas, granddaughter of Melvyn Douglas. The release also includes the original theatrical trailer and is housed in a limited edition slipcase by Imprint Films.
