Hiding Out 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Release July 29 from Kino Lorber
Kino Lorber releases 1987's Hiding Out on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray with new restoration and extensive special features
Kino Lorber announces the upcoming release of Bob Giraldi's 1987 film Hiding Out, starring Jon Cryer, Keith Coogan, Annabeth Gish, Oliver Cotton, and Claude Brooks. Both 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray editions are scheduled to hit shelves on July 29, 2025.
The film follows stockbroker Andrew Morenski (Jon Cryer), who becomes a mob target and hides out in a high school under the alias Max Hauser. Adopting a punk persona, he navigates school life, confronts teachers, gains popularity, and starts a relationship, all while evading hit men intent on killing him.
Both versions feature a newly created 4K SDR restoration from the original camera negative by Studiocanal. The disc collection provides two separate audio commentaries: one by director Bob Giraldi moderated by Heather Buckley of Black Mansion Films, and another by film historians Steve Mitchell and Nathaniel Thompson. Audio tracks include 5.1 surround sound and lossless 2.0 options, with optional English subtitles.
Additional content on the Blu-ray includes interviews with lead actors Jon Cryer and Annabeth Gish, as well as the original theatrical trailer.
