Hard Boiled directed by John Woo is getting a 3-disc Deluxe Edition 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on November 4, 2025 from Shout Factory. It's being released as part of Shout’s Hong Kong Cinema Classics line (Spine #17).
The story follows a tough cop (Chow Yun-fat) who partners up with an undercover agent (Tony Leung), to dismantle a violent crime syndicate. The film is renowned for its stylized gunplay, explosive set pieces, and balletic violence, all crafted with meticulous precision. Woo’s blend of dramatic depth and choreographed action sequences creates an emotionally charged experience that captures the intensity and flair of Hong Kong action cinema.

The release includes both the 4K UHD and a standard Blu-ray of the feature, along with a separate Blu-ray bonus disc.
Special features include three audio commentaries, including two new tracks with director John Woo and film historian Frank Djeng, plus the previously released Criterion commentary featuring Woo, producer Terence Chang, Roger Avary, and Dave Kehr. The third disc is solely for extras and features a plethora of interviews, plus deleted scenes, trailers an image gallery and a 52-page booklet to top it off.
