Shameless Entertainment releases Dario Argento's 1971 cult classic with a treasure trove of extras.
British label Shameless Entertainment is set to release the Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray of Dario Argento's renowned cult film, Four Flies on Grey Velvet, on April 28, 2025. This pivotal release brings Argento's thought-provoking exploration of psychological themes, blended with his signature horror style, to audiences in a meticulously restored format.
Featuring an all-star cast including Mimsy Farmer, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Bud Spencer, Aldo Bufi Landi, and Michael Brandon, the film follows the harrowing journey of rock musician Roberto Tobias, played by Brandon. His character is ensnared in a horrifying cycle of murders following a brutal stabbing incident, driven by the eerie discovery of a mystery captured on a victim's retina.
Celebrated director Dario Argento and lead actor Michael Brandon provide exclusive insights in new interviews, detailing how Argento utilized personal paranoia to shape this intense psychological thriller. Argento’s work concludes the 'Animal' trilogy and precedes his expressionistic masterpieces that established his legacy as the 'Master of Horror.' The film’s slow-motion finale, complemented by Ennio Morricone’s haunting score, remains a highlight for enthusiasts.
