Fade to Black 4K Blu-ray Combo Pack Arrives May 20 from Scream Factory

Fade to Black (1980), directed by Vernon Zimmerman, arrives on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray combo pack from Scream Factory on May 20, 2025. The film stars Dennis Christopher, Tim Thomerson, Gwynne Gilford, Norman Burton, and Linda Kerridge.

The story follows Eric Binford (Christopher), a devoted movie enthusiast working at a 35mm print depot who escapes into fantasy by adopting the personas of his screen idols. When bullying pushes him beyond his limits, Eric enacts violent retributions through recreations of iconic film scenes.

This release features a brand new 4K restoration completed in 2025, presented with Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K disc. Both discs include multiple audio commentaries from film critic Drew McWeeny, actor Dennis Christopher, and film historians Amanda Reyes and Bill Ackerman.

The Blu-ray also offers an extensive collection of featurettes, including interviews with executive producer Irwin Yablans, stylist Patricia Bunch, composer Craig Safan, editor Barbara Pokras, special effects artist Wayne Beauchamp, actors Marcie Barkin and Linda Kerridge, as well as a still gallery and the theatrical trailer.

Audio is provided in 2.0 mono and optional English subtitles are available for the main feature.
