Unearthed Films Announces New 4K Edition of Evilenko Starring Malcolm McDowell
Evilenko, the chilling cinematic portrayal of one of the Soviet Union's most infamous serial killers, directed by David Grieco, is getting a stunning new 4K restoration. Unearthed Films has announced that the 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions will be available for purchase on February 25.
This true-crime thriller delves into the life of Andrej Romanovic Evilenko, a dismissed communist teacher turned serial killer in 1984 Kiev. Compassionately pursued by magistrate Vadim Timurouvic Lesiev, Evilenko's horrific spree resulted in the deaths of fifty-five individuals before his capture, trial, and eventual execution.
The upcoming release promises a meticulous restoration from the original camera negative, providing an HDR presentation that enhances the film's intense visual narrative. Malcolm McDowell leads a compelling ensemble cast, including Marton Csokas, Ronald Pickup, Frances Barber, and John Benfield.
