Radiance Films presents three restored 1960s Japanese ghost tales with new interviews and essays in a collector’s box set.
Daiei Gothic: Japanese Ghost Stories Vol. 2 brings three classic ghost films from Daiei Studios to Blu-ray for the first time in the UK. Newly restored in 4K, these titles represent Japan's supernatural cinema of the 1960s with lavish production and chilling storylines.
The Demon of Mount Oe, directed by Tokuzo Tanaka, follows a group of warriors tasked with killing a demon. Along the way, they encounter supernatural obstacles and unsettling revelations that challenge their mission.

The Haunted Castle, also directed by Tokuzo Tanaka, after a woman is wronged and murdered, her cat turns into a vengeful ghost, tormenting the feudal lord’s court. A tale drawn from folklore, steeped in mystery, and retribution.
The Ghost of Kasane Swamp, directed by Kimiyoshi Yasuda, tells of a tragic curse passed through violent family events, blending horror with traditional ghost story elements.
Each film features uncompressed mono PCM audio and optional English subtitles. The collection includes new interviews with horror filmmakers Mari Asato and Norio Tsuruta, as well as commentary and visual essays from genre experts Taichi Kasuga, Tom Mes, and Zack Davisson.
The set is presented in a newly designed box with artwork by Filippo Di Battista, accompanied by an 80-page booklet containing new scholarship and original ghost tales. This limited edition of 4,000 copies arrives in Scanavo cases with removable OBI strips.
