Kino Lorber releases Tamra Davis’ comedy starring Adam Sandler with new 4K restoration and extensive extras
Billy Madison (1995), directed by Tamra Davis and starring Adam Sandler, Darren McGavin, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, Bradley Whitford, and Josh Mostel, arrives on 4K Blu-ray from Kino Lorber on July 29, 2025. This release marks the 30th anniversary of the film’s release.
The story follows Billy Madison, a spoiled rich man-child who must retake and pass all grades in 24 weeks to claim his family’s hotel business, as his father threatens to hand control to a scheming associate. The film blends comedy with a unique premise about responsibility and growth.
This two-disc set features a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative presented in Dolby Vision HDR. Audio options include 5.1 surround sound and lossless 2.0 tracks, complemented by optional English subtitles. Fans will find multiple audio commentaries: a new track by author and filmmaker Bryan Connolly and podcast host Wilson Smith, alongside one from director Tamra Davis.
The Blu-ray disc also includes a robust collection of deleted scenes totaling nearly 33 minutes and various featurettes such as “The Pool, Penguins & Pornography,” “Billy at Home,” “Being Billy,” “School Days,” “Eric and Principal Anderson,” and more.
