Kino Lorber releases the Audie Murphy Collection IV on Blu-ray, scheduled for May 27, 2025. This set features three western films showcasing Audie Murphy in significant roles.
The first title, The Kid from Texas (1950), directed by Kurt Neumann, tells the story of outlaw Billy the Kid (Murphy), who seeks justice after his employer is murdered. The cast also includes Gale Storm, Albert Dekker, and William Talman. This edition includes a new audio commentary by critic and screenwriter Gary Gerani, the original trailer, and optional English SDH subtitles.
Next is The Cimarron Kid (1952), directed by Budd Boetticher. Murphy stars as a wrongly accused cowboy who joins outlaws and later struggles to reform while hiding at a ranch. The final film, Drums Across the River (1954), directed by Nathan Juran, presents a conflict involving land claims on Ute territory in Colorado. Murphy stars alongside Walter Brennan and Hugh O'Brian. This release contains a new audio commentary by C. Courtney Joyner, the original trailer, and optional English SDH subtitles.
