88 Films: Jakoman and Tetsu Blu-ray Debut April 29

Jakoman and Tetsu, directed by Kinji Fukasaku, will hit Blu-ray formats courtesy of 88 Films this April. From a script by the legendary Akira Kurosawa, this action-packed drama is set against the post-war backdrop of Hokkaido in 1947. Starring Ken Takakura as Tetsu, the story sees Tetsu return to his coastal village to assist his father, Kyubei, in the herring fishing business. Their serene existence is threatened by the antagonist Jakoman, portrayed by Tetsuro Tamba, as he seeks vengeance and stirs chaos among the hardworking fishermen.

Jakoman and Tetsu's Blu-ray release promises high-definition visuals and an array of special features. Exclusive enhancements include a newly filmed introduction by Mark Schilling and new audio commentary by Tom Mes & Jasper Sharp.
