Pete Marshall, a pollster, ventures into the rural backwoods to locate a missing colleague. He arrives at the Fleagle household, a bizarre and dangerous family living in an isolated farmhouse. The matriarch, Ma Fleagle, invites Pete in under suspicion, while her twin sons, Mert and Bert, display violent tendencies.
