PlotDax Winslow, a streetball team manager with a passion for the sport but a series of unfortunate setbacks, faces yet another blow when his rival, Mookie, snatches his star player and his team, along with Dax's financial stability. With the renowned Rucker Classic streetball tournament fast approaching in Harlem, Dax is desperate to assemble a new team and reclaim his chance at the trophy. Strapped for cash and options, Dax encounters the legendary Uncle Drew, an elderly basketball virtuoso who astounds him with his skills on the court. Recognizing Drew's exceptional talent, Dax persuades him to join the tournament, aiming for victory to both redeem himself and win the cash prize.
Uncle Drew agrees under one condition: they must recruit his original squad, who, despite their age, were once the champions of the Rucker Classic. The team includes Big Fella, a towering martial arts instructor with a sensitive side; Preacher, a church minister who hasn't lost his slick moves; Lights, an almost blind player with a knack for precision shots; and Boots, confined to a wheelchair but with untapped abilities waiting to be reignited. With Dax's determination and Drew's connections, the oddball crew embarks on a road trip to reunite the old teammates, overcoming their rusty joints and past grudges, while challenging the preconceptions of age and ability on the basketball court.

Uncle Drew is a heartful yet predictable underdog tale with okay visuals but iffy makeup.
