PlotJason Tripitikas, an American teenager who is passionate about kung fu movies, finds himself drawn to an antique shop in Chinatown. There, he discovers a curious staff that pulls him into an ancient world upon touching it. In this mystical kingdom, he learns that the staff belonged to the legendary Monkey King, who has been trapped in stone by the evil Jade Warlord. The kingdom is under the Jade Warlord's ruthless rule, awaiting the fulfillment of a prophecy that a traveler from another world will return the staff to its rightful owner and free the Monkey King. To achieve this, Jason must embark on a perilous journey across a landscape filled with mythical creatures and martial arts masters.
Guided by the wisdom of a drunk immortal, Lu Yan, and the silent monk, who both possess incredible kung fu skills, Jason undergoes rigorous training. Alongside them is Golden Sparrow, a young woman seeking vengeance against the Jade Warlord for the murder of her family. As they journey together, Jason discovers his own courage and learns valuable lessons about friendship, loyalty, and the importance of his mission. Faced with formidable obstacles and a ruthless enemy, Jason's resolve and newly acquired martial arts skills are put to the test as he fights not only for the Monkey King's freedom but also for the peace of this mystical land.
