Wish I Was Here

PlotAidan Bloom is a struggling actor, husband, and father of two who is still trying to find his purpose in life. Forced to reevaluate his existence and role as a parent when his father, Gabe, can no longer afford to pay for private education for his grandchildren, Aidan decides to homeschool his kids, Grace and Tucker. As he embarks on this new responsibility, Aidan attempts to shift from being a perpetually self-absorbed dreamer to a more pragmatic and grounded adult. His quest for meaning and connection propels him into various experiences and interactions that uncover longstanding familial tensions and unresolved conflicts.
Through his journey of self-discovery, Aidan also grapples with the strained relationship he has with his distant brother, Noah, and the evolving dynamics within his marriage to his supportive wife, Sarah. Balancing the responsibilities of homeschooling, caring for his ailing father, and mending broken relationships challenges Aidan at every turn. As he immerses himself in the lives of his children and confronts his shortcomings, Aidan learns profound lessons about family, love, and personal growth, which lead him to reevaluate what truly makes life fulfilling.
