PlotIn Mexico City, the lives of several characters intersect in the aftermath of a horrific car accident. Each story is linked by the presence of dogs, which play a vital role in the narrative and the lives of the protagonists. The first tale focuses on Octavio, a young man who falls into the world of illegal dog fighting in order to raise money. He is secretly in love with his sister-in-law, Susana, and is desperate to escape his suffocating life. His story revolves around his efforts to win over Susana and leave behind his troubled neighborhood, using his dog, Cofi, to win bets and build a future for both of them.
Meanwhile, another storyline delves into the world of Daniel, a successful magazine publisher who leaves his family to start a new life with his supermodel girlfriend, Valeria. Their new beginning is marred when Valeria is seriously injured in the collision, an event that profoundly impacts her career and their relationship. In the midst of her recovery, the couple faces additional strain as her beloved dog becomes trapped beneath the floorboards of their apartment, paralleling their sense of entrapment and testing their bond. Each vignette plunges deeper into the chaos of the characters’ lives, revealing the strong connection between human folly and the loyalty and instincts of dogs.
