Isn't It Romantic
Director: Todd Strauss-Schulson
Actors: Rebel Wilson, Liam Hemsworth, Adam Devine
PlotNatalie, an Australian architect living in New York City, struggles with self-esteem and doesn't believe in love. Her mundane life revolves around her job, where she feels unnoticed and underappreciated, especially compared to her colleagues. After a frustrating encounter with a thief, Natalie knocks herself out and awakens in a surreal alternate universe where everything looks and feels like a cliché romantic comedy. In this world, Natalie finds her apartment lavishly upgraded, her career soaring, and people around her unusually kind and attractive. She also discovers that every romantic comedy trope is now a reality, including meeting a charming and handsome billionaire named Blake who becomes infatuated with her.
Baffled and annoyed by the absurdity of her new reality, Natalie realizes that to escape this rom-com world, she must find true love. Along the way, she receives help from her work best friend Josh, who seems happier and more confident than in their previous reality. As she navigates through exaggerative romantic gestures and comedic hoops, Natalie begins to understand that genuine self-love and confidence are essential to finding real happiness. Her journey through this peculiar world is filled with humorous encounters and self-discovery as she seeks to break free from the nonsensical constraints of the romantic comedy universe.
