PlotChen Nian, a high school student in China, is intensely preparing for the national gaokao exam, which is crucial for her future. However, her life takes a dark turn when her classmate commits suicide due to severe bullying. As Chen Nian becomes the next target of the bullies, she struggles to balance her intense academic pressure with the threat of violence that looms over her. Desperate and feeling isolated, she encounters Xiao Bei, a small-time street thug with whom she forms an unlikely bond. He promises to protect her from the bullies, and in return, she helps him envision a better life.
As Chen Nian and Xiao Bei's relationship deepens, their intertwined destinies lead them into increasingly dangerous situations that test their loyalty and resilience. The local authorities start paying attention to both Chen Nian's plight and Xiao Bei's involvement, complicating their lives further. With tension escalating, the stakes grow higher for both characters as they find themselves ensnared in a situation far more perilous than they ever imagined. Their journey together explores themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the pursuit of justice amid a harsh societal backdrop.
